The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Contreiras takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Lieu gets tackled into the cage by Contreiras. Contreiras maintains the clinch.
Contreiras successfully pulls guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Contreiras scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Contreiras looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lieu is fending him off so far but Contreiras persists. Nope, Lieu circles away and we're back to standing.
Lieu fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Contreiras looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Contreiras shoots in for a double leg but Lieu sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Lieu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Contreiras swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Luan Lieu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Lieu keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lieu lands a big head kick that sends Contreiras tumbling to the mat! Lieu takes a step backwards and waves Contreiras back to his feet - he wants the finish!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lieu is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A head kick by Lieu - that's a beauty! Contreiras is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Lieu can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
