PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iain Durrant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 20 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Iain Durrant!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Illya Tyunina and Valeri Chadov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Durrant does no damage.
Harris slips a jab and a cross from Durrant.

Harris feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Harris looking to sit in guard and control but Durrant gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Durrant is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Harris is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Harris has escaped and now he's on top!
Durrant can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Harris controls the pace.

Durrant looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Harris has picked Durrant up and slammed him! Durrant can't keep hold of the triangle and Harris manages to pass to side control!

Harris wants to take a breather but Durrant manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Harris.

Durrant is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Harris makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Durrant isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Harris stacks Durrant on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Harris!

Durrant is looking to regain half guard here but Harris keeps moving and retains side control.
Harris wants to control but Durrant is keeping him busy.

You can see the frustration on Durrant's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Harris scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Durrant to see if he's OK.

Durrant is staying active underneath Harris, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Anderson Harris dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Harris closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Durrant is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Harris scores with a couple of nice shots.

Harris thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Durrant's head.

Durrant is in trouble now - Harris has advanced to mount!

Durrant is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Harris is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Harris has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Durrant is rocked!
Harris postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Durrant badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Harris around the waist but Harris pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Harris is the winner by TKO! Harris jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
