Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tessenji Fuuhaku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Snoozer!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuuhaku tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Snoozer paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Fuuhaku moves into the clinch successfully.
Snoozer gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Snoozer seems to be looking for submissions.
Snoozer not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Fuuhaku trying to control but Snoozer postures up.
Fuuhaku is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Snoozer wants to take a breather but Fuuhaku is having none of it.
Snoozer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Snoozer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Snoozer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fuuhaku's head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Fuuhaku keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Fuuhaku knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Snoozer on the ground.
Snoozer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fuuhaku keeps working.
Fuuhaku tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Snoozer has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Snoozer lands with some strikes.
Snoozer misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Fuuhaku is in all sorts of trouble here.
Snoozer has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Fuuhaku's face.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fuuhaku bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Snoozer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Snoozer is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Fuuhaku frees his head nicely. Oh but Snoozer has switched to an armbar! Fuuhaku is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
