Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yasuhiru Kanayama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eder Silva!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kanayama shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Silva is trying to maintain the position but Kanayama is very close to passing his half guard.
Silva is staying active underneath Kanayama, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Silva moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kanayama knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Yasuhiru Kanayama just wasn't active enough.

Kanayama changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kanayama in particular looking to stall.
Silva regains full guard. Nicely done.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva controls Kanayama momentarily but Kanayama frees himself.
Kanayama tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
Kanayama has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kanayama gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
Silva scores with a head kick. Kanayama tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


It looks like Yasuhiru Kanayama has been cut.

Kanayama is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Silva's half guard.
Silva moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Kanayama stands and steps away. Silva gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

A jab lands there for Silva.

Kanayama closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kanayama wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.
Kanayama is breathing heavily.
Silva wants to control but Kanayama postures up.
Silva gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Eder Silva will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Yasuhiru Kanayama's cut.
That's time! Kanayama's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Nice uppercut lands for Silva. That snapped Kanayama's head back.
Kanayama shoots for a takedown but Silva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kanayama drops his hands momentarily and Silva needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Kanayama just on the top of the head. Kanayama drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Kanayama - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Eder Silva!
A very excited looking Eder Silva made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
