Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Diago Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Katana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez comes to the cage accompanied by Coming Home. Katana has chosen Baby got back as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Diago Sanchez has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez shoots in for a double leg but Katana sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Diago Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sanchez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sanchez tries to move into range but Katana moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Katana's corner calls for a 1-2. Katana obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Katana cracks Sanchez with an open hand slap.
Sanchez fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
The fighters circling - Katana throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Katana shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sanchez eats them both and turns towards Katana to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Sanchez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

and Katana counters with a left and a right that stings Sanchez.
Sanchez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Katana counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Sanchez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Katana tries to avoid it but Sanchez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Katana to the ground. Katana escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Katana takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Katana scores with a sloppy right hand. Sanchez should have avoided that one.
Katana uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sanchez.
Sanchez thuds his shin into the meat of Katana's side.
Sanchez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Diago Sanchez.
