PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bors De Camlan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Big Bad Wolf by Duck Sauce. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bors De Camlan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Williams!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams tries for a takedown but De Camlan circles away easily
and De Camlan counters with a two punch combo.
Williams waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract De Camlan.
De Camlan shoots in but no luck this time.
Williams tries to score a power double leg takedown but De Camlan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Williams somewhat.
De Camlan goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like David Williams has been cut.
De Camlan looks to land a right hand but Williams moved out of range.
De Camlan takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
De Camlan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
De Camlan misses with the combination.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
De Camlan tries to bum rush Williams with a series of wild strikes but Williams uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Williams takes the fight into the clinch.
De Camlan is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Williams is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bors De Camlan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Williams throws a head punch that misses.
De Camlan is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Williams pulls him back up using the underhooks.
De Camlan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Williams gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Williams manages to break the clinch.
De Camlan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Williams breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
De Camlan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
De Camlan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Williams's waist but Williams gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing De Camlan off to one side.
Williams throws a leg kick but De Camlan checks it.
Williams is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by De Camlan.
Williams moves out of range as De Camlan strikes.
Williams throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck De Camlan on the side of the head.
Williams shoots for a double leg takedown but De Camlan sprawls well. He's pushed Williams's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Williams drives through with a takedown into De Camlan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Williams is pushing down on De Camlan's leg trying to pass to half guard. De Camlan is fighting to maintain full guard but Williams has managed to sneak the leg through.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Williams throws a looping overhand right but De Camlan ducks down to avoid it.
De Camlan throws an overhand right that lands on Williams's shoulder, as Williams tries to avoid the shot.
Williams misses with a low kick.
Williams bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps De Camlan's head backwards.
De Camlan dives in and grabs Williams's left leg, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes down on De Camlan's head and hops out.
Williams tries for a takedown but De Camlan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
De Camlan looks to score with a jab to the body but Williams is just out of range.
Williams fakes a jab and throws a low kick but De Camlan checks it well.
De Camlan on the wrong end of a nice hook.
David Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Williams. De Camlan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Williams is looking to chop away at De Camlan's legs.

Bors De Camlan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Williams.

and Williams counters with a nice uppercut.

A punch lands to the side of Williams 's head but he takes it in his stride.

De Camlan throws a shot from downtown. Williams moves away and avoids it.
De Camlan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but De Camlan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
De Camlan misses with a jab, cross combination.
Williams lands with a good body shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Williams lands a nice shot to the body.

Williams manages to get an easy takedown there - catching De Camlan on his heels. He'll look to pass De Camlan's guard now, I'm sure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Williams has his foot on De Camlan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. De Camlan works his way back into a safe position though.
De Camlan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Williams's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

De Camlan seems to be looking for submissions.
De Camlan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Williams knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
De Camlan passes the guard and advances to mount!
De Camlan prevents Williams from getting the reversal.
Williams tries to lock up and control but De Camlan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Williams is desperately trying to improve his position but De Camlan has a good base and remains in mount.

Williams tries to reverse the position but De Camlan maintains control.

De Camlan moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Williams has worked his arm free - good work by Williams!

De Camlan looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Williams gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Williams has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. De Camlan is working away from the top position though.

De Camlan is looking for a kimura here.
Williams makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Williams.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Williams working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. De Camlan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. De Camlan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Williams looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
De Camlan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

De Camlan wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.
De Camlan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bors De Camlan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
David Williams is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

David Williams comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Williams has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
