Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Gotti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frazier Crane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frazier Crane is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Gotti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frazier Crane!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crane tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gotti manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Gotti shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Crane is trying to defend but Gotti finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gotti with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Crane trying to control but Gotti postures up.

Crane looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Gotti thows a huge punch but Crane dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gotti throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Crane tries to roll over but Gotti keeps him under control.
Crane is pressing down on Gotti's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Gotti stands and steps away. Crane gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Gotti moves out of range of the strikes.

Gotti drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Gotti is breathing heavily.
Crane tries to control but Gotti manages to take his back.
Gotti will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gotti gets his hands free as Crane looks to control.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Gotti controlling the positon.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crane is trapped and Gotti is scoring with shots to the head and body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gotti connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Crane to escape the position.
Crane trying to control the hands but Gotti breaks the grip.
Crane has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gotti gets his hands free as Crane looks to control.

Gotti is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Crane defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Crane tries to escape the position.
Crane trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Crane is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Crane tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Gotti avoids the attempt from Crane to control.
Crane tries to reverse the position but Gotti maintains control.

Crane is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Gotti gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Gotti gets a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Crane looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Gotti dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Crane tries to close the distance and clinch but Gotti swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Crane takes a kick to the side of the head.
Crane misses with a hook. Gotti ducked under it nicely.

Crane throws a series of punches but Gotti avoids them all with ease.
Crane lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gotti circles away quickly and effectively.

and Gotti holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Crane can't break the clinch.
Gotti throws a head punch that misses.
Gotti is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gotti tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Crane just stands there and leans against the cage.

Gotti wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Crane decides to pull guard.

Gotti gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Crane tried to score with a low kick but Gotti checks it.
Crane stalks Gotti and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gotti's face. Gotti staggers backwards, shaken.
Crane tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gotti manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Sloppy strikes from Crane. Those never looked like landing.
Crane fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Crane closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Crane is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Gotti pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Crane prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Gotti. That's going to take a lot out of him.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Crane tries to pull guard but Gotti holds him up against the cage and eventually Crane drops back down to his feet.
Gotti prevents the takedown attempt.
Crane wants to break free but Gotti has control.
Gotti looking to stall.
Crane creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Gotti's defenses.
The referee calls for Crane to work.

Crane manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Gotti loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Crane bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gotti's guard.
Gotti is trying to control the position but Crane postures up.
Crane trying to control the position from guard on top but Gotti is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Crane thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Crane postures up in Gotti's guard and throws a big left but Gotti blocks it.
Crane throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gotti works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Gotti is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Crane working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Crane trying to control but Gotti is working from the bottom.
Crane would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Crane postures up in Gotti's guard and throws a big left but Gotti blocks it.
Crane is pushing down on Gotti's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gotti is fighting to maintain full guard but Crane has managed to sneak the leg through.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frazier Crane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Crane looks to land a combination but Gotti avoids it well.

Gotti shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Crane's guard.

Gotti stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Gotti uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Crane.
A combination from Crane does no damage.
Crane misses with a looping right.
Crane throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice defenses there by Gotti.
Crane fails with an attempt to clinch.

Gotti shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Crane trying to control here.

Crane is looking to control Gotti's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Crane avoid being mounted?

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Frazier Crane wasn't active enough on the ground.
Crane wants to clinch
and Gotti makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Crane really felt that one!
Gotti swats away the attempt to clinch by Crane.

Crane closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gotti to the mat! Gotti manages to get full guard.
Gotti is trying to keep Crane in close.
Crane tries to free his leg and advance position but Gotti is retaining full guard.
Gotti looking for a sweep. Not yet Gotti, not yet.
Crane missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Crane is pushing down on Gotti's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gotti is fighting to maintain full guard but Crane has managed to sneak the leg through.
Crane lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Gotti is staying active underneath Crane, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gotti is trying to get back to full guard.
Gotti trying to hold on to Crane's head to control him but Crane postures up.
Gotti wants to improve his position but Crane is controlling well.

Gotti is controlling Crane's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Crane is trying to control the action in half guard but Gotti is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Frazier Crane hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Crane misses with a two punch combination.
Crane goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Crane misses with a jab, cross combination.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Crane swinging wildly here.

Gotti looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Frazier Crane.
I think Crane has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
