Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gay Al (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikhail Chigorin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mikhail Chigorin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Al with that takedown attempt.

Al changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chigorin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Chigorin tries to improve position but can't.

Al thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Al has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Al closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Al feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chigorin is on top in guard.

Al has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chigorin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Al has hold of Chigorin's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Chigorin manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Al trying to control but Chigorin is having none of it.

Al is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Chigorin can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
BOOM! Al connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Al had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Chigorin is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Al Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Chigorin's back instead.
