The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woitek looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Woitek is trying to trip Hewitt. He has hold of a leg but Hewitt is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Woitek persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Woitek drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hewitt dives on top into guard.

Hewitt decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Woitek, up you get!

Hewitt connects with a leg kick. Woitek looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Hewitt takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Hewitt displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Woitek throws out the jab.

The fight stays on the outside here - Hewitt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Woitek drags the fight down to the ground.

Woitek is working an open guard so Hewitt takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Hewitt is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Janusz Woitek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Woitek misses with a straight right.
Hewitt feints with a jab and clips Woitek right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Woitek is sent crashing into the canvas and Hewitt leaps in for the kill! Woitek tries to get to his feet but Hewitt is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Woitek is in need of a savior and steps in!
