Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Will Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bart Bartell!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Anthony Taglia and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bartell clinches up with Williams and pushes him back against the cage.
Bartell is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Bartell has Williams pressed against the cage, preventing Williams from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Williams pulls guard.
Bartell passes into half guard.
Bartell stands up and beckons Williams to join him on the feet.
Bartell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Williams misses with a straight left.
Williams keeps the fight on the outside.
Bartell tries to close the distance and clinch but Williams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Williams gets a double leg takedown into Bartell's guard.
Bartell keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully.
Williams drops back looking for a leg! Bartell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bartell manages to kick Williams off! Williams jumps back into Bartell's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Bartell looking to control.
Bartell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Williams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Williams is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bartell is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bartell has escaped and now he's on top!
Williams has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bartell doesn't defend quickly enough and Williams has managed to lock this one up! Can Bartell escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Williams on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Will Williams!
