The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deathgrip throws a low kick, looking for Wainui's leg but Wainui calmly moves out of range.
Deathgrip tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Wainui is able to avoid easily.
Deathgrip avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Deathgrip throws a leg kick but Wainui sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Deathgrip has his takedown stuffed
and Wainui counters with a left to the body.
Wainui just misses with a punch to the body.
Wainui cracks Deathgrip with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Wainui swings for the body but Deathgrip moves out of range.
Wainui works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Wainui connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Wainui throws the left hand but Deathgrip avoids the punch easily.
Deathgrip uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wainui.
Deathgrip closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wainui circles away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wainui works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Deathgrip really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Wainui scores with a sloppy right hand. Deathgrip should have avoided that one.

Wainui throws a hook but Deathgrip blocks it.
Wainui tests Deathgrip's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Deathgrip swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Deathgrip shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wainui sprawls well. Wainui wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Deathgrip gets slowly back to his feet.
