The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stansbury lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Barton circles away quickly and effectively.
Stansbury swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Barton counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Stansbury is lucky that one didn't land flush.
A decent looking cross lands there for Barton.
Stansbury throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Barton connects with a solid leg kick.
Stansbury misses with a double jab
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Barton clinches up against the cage.
Barton on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Barton lands a body punch in the clinch.
Stansbury tries a body shot but Barton blocks it.
Barton jumps guard and drags Stansbury to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Barton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stansbury defends it easily.
Stansbury landing with the ground and pound.
Stansbury must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Stansbury throws a big right hand that misses.

Stansbury trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Barton is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Stansbury rolls with it to try and escape but Barton cranks on the arm and Stansbury is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

In his post fight interview, Jack Barton started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
