Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ismail Polat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Quintana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ismail Polat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jesus Quintana!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quintana is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Polat's half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Quintana seems to be working for a kimura but Polat defends the submission attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Quintana is trying to control the action in half guard but Polat is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Quintana is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Polat doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Quintana.

Quintana is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Polat is just riding it out for now. Quintana eventually gives up the hold.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Polat won't allow Quintana to pass to mount.
Quintana stalling away here and it's allowed Polat to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Quintana might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Polat kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Quintana looks to throw the jab but Polat is out of range.

Polat thows a left - swing and a miss!
A nice leg kick lands there from Polat.
Quintana ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A telegraphed right hand from Polat misses the target.
Polat uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Good leg kick by Polat there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Polat avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Polat missing with a left hand there. Quintana was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ismail Polat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesus Quintana showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Polat's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Polat displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Quintana throws out the jab.

Quintana shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Polat as he jumps to the side.
Polat feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Quintana's calf.
Polat lands a nice looking kick to the body. Quintana takes a step back to recover.
Polat looks to land a left hand but Quintana moved out of range nicely.

Polat misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

The fighters circling - Polat throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Quintana misses with an uppercut.
Polat misses with a series of wild punches.
Polat loads up on a big right hand but Quintana slips the punch.

Polat takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Quintana connects with a body shot that sends Polat's belly button to the back.
Quintana thuds a left hand into Polat's body.
Polat pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Quintana connects with a body shot.
Ismail Polat is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Quintana digs a good hook to Polat's body.

Quintana shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Quintana moves into full mount! Polat won't be happy about that!

Quintana is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Polat to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Polat shrugs it off.

Quintana wants to finish this one by submission but Polat is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Quintana.
Quintana wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

Quintana is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Polat on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Polat tries to get out of the position.
Polat is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Quintana controlling from the full mount.
Quintana's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Quintana trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Jesus Quintana comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Quintana winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
