And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Werdum decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Sloan keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Werdum thows a huge punch but Sloan dodges it nicely.
Werdum with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Werdum not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Werdum throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Sloan to regain full guard.
Werdum scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Werdum wants to pass the guard but Sloan is keeping the position.
Werdum showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Werdum might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Werdum passes into half guard.
Werdum is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sloan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Werdum.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Werdum is looking for a kimura but Sloan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Werdum to get the leverage.
Werdum content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Werdum missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Sloan tries to kick Werdum off but Werdum keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Werdum is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Werdum has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sloan wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Werdum.
Werdum has control of Sloan's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sloan regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Werdum unloads with some shots from mount but Sloan bucks and avoids them well.
Werdum misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Werdum has isolated one of Sloan's arms. Sloan looking to fight him off but Werdum twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
