Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Urijah Samuel!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samuel has his takedown stuffed
and Cruz counters with a leg kick.
A head kick from Cruz lands but Samuel takes it in his stride.
Cruz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cruz wants it to stay on the feet.

and Samuel counters with a shoot takedown. Cruz fights it but they end up in guard.
Samuel missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cruz is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Cruz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Samuel on the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cruz wants to get back to his feet but Samuel is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Cruz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Samuel is one step ahead there.
Samuel postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Samuel distracts Cruz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Cruz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Samuel throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cruz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Samuel won't allow Cruz to get back to his feet.

Samuel drops back looking for a leg! Cruz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cruz manages to kick Samuel off! Samuel jumps back into Cruz's guard.

Samuel drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Samuel seems to have locked his on tight now - Cruz screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Samuel, as he picks up the win!
