Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between New York Strangler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hoyt Jurgensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jurgensen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Peter, Paul & Mary - If I Had A Hammer. New York Strangler has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jurgensen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Strangler tries to avoid it but Jurgensen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Strangler to the ground. Strangler escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jurgensen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Jurgensen shoots in looking for a takedown but Strangler manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jurgensen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
New York Strangler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hoyt Jurgensen.

Strangler is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jurgensen is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The ref stands the fighters back up because New York Strangler just wasn't active enough.

Strangler shoots in looking for a takedown. Jurgensen tries to sprawl out of it but Strangler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jurgensen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jurgensen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Strangler can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Strangler tries to lock up and control but Jurgensen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
