Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luck Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mauricio Anquisto!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anquisto fails to land with a series of punches.

Anquisto has closed the distance and engaged Miller in a clinch.

Anquisto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Anquisto tries to clinch but Miller is having none of it.
Anquisto dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Anquisto moves in looking to clinch but Miller pushes him off.
Nice takedown defense from Miller. No joy for Anquisto on that attempt.
Miller shoots in for a double leg but Anquisto sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Anquisto rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Miller moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Anquisto looks to land a combination but Miller avoids it well.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Miller seems to be looking for submissions.
Anquisto moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Miller shoots for a double leg takedown but Anquisto sprawls well. He's pushed Miller's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Miller really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Miller decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Anquisto's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Miller is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Anquisto is just riding it out for now. Miller eventually gives up the hold.

Anquisto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Miller fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Anquisto avoids it really well and circles away.

Miller shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Anquisto sprawls well. Anquisto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Miller gets slowly back to his feet.

Anquisto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Miller paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Miller counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Anquisto's guard now.

Miller wants to pass the guard but Anquisto is keeping the position.

Miller knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Anquisto on the ground.

Luck Miller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Anquisto moves to clinch but Miller breaks away

and Miller counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Anquisto's guard now.
Luck Miller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Anquisto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Miller gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Anquisto has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Miller is working away from the top position though.

Miller is looking for a kimura but Anquisto is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Miller to get the leverage.
Anquisto is trying to stand.

Miller wants to work for an arm triangle but Anquisto is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Luck Miller.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Miller, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
