Miller kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Nero Remix - Feel So Close. LJ Worthon has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Melvin Miller's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Melvin Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, LJ Worthon!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miller bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Miller is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Worthon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Miller decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Worthon is looking to clinch.

Miller forces Worthon back against the cage and clinches.
Worthon being controlled against the cage.
Worthon lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Worthon is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Worthon fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Worthon turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Worthon manages to end up in side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Miller avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Worthon.
Worthon throws an elbow but Miller slips to the side and avoids it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Worthon goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Miller rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Worthon's guard! Nice work there by Miller!
Worthon wants to sweep here but Miller controlling him for the moment.
Miller postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Miller gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
No joy there for Miller, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Miller takes the fight into the clinch.
Worthon is looking to take this one to the mat.
Melvin Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of LJ Worthon.
Miller scores with a nice hook to the head.

Miller breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Worthon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Worthon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Melvin Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Worthon looks gassed!
Miller lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Worthon circles away quickly and effectively.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Miller shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Worthon eats them both and turns towards Miller to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Miller rushes Worthon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Worthon tries to pull guard but Miller holds him up against the cage and eventually Worthon drops back down to his feet.

Miller has Worthon pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Miller pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Worthon tumbling to the mat - Miller dives into Worthon's guard.
Worthon keeping full guard, as Miller tries to pass.

Miller stands up and waves to Worthon to follow him.
Worthon tries to close the distance and clinch but Miller swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Worthon moves out of range of the body kick from Miller.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A combination from Miller does no damage.
Miller swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Miller gets a clinch.
Worthon tries for a takedown. No joy.
Miller tries to break the clinch but Worthon is controlling the position.

Miller has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Worthon clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Worthon defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

Miller has got one arm under Worthon's chin. This could be trouble... Worthon trying to control the other hand but Miller gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Worthon has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Melvin Miller!
After the fight, Melvin Miller was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
