PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wazz Dakka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cassit Heiluu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heiluu has chosen Kerrankin Tarpeekseen as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dakka swinging wildly here.
Heiluu misses with a wild combination.
Heiluu misses with a looping left.
Sloppy strikes from Dakka. Those never looked like landing.
Heiluu looks to land a combination but Dakka avoids it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dakka throws a hook to the side of Heiluu's head but Heiluu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Dakka cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Heiluu looks to land a combination but Dakka avoids it well.
Heiluu cracks Dakka with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Dakka scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Heiluu tries to close the distance and clinch but Dakka swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Heiluu throws a hook but Dakka avoids it easily.

Dakka throws a leg kick which misses Heiluu's front leg but catches the back leg as Heiluu tries to avoid it.

Heiluu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dakka's waist but Dakka gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Heiluu off to one side.

The fighters circling - Dakka throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Heiluu swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dakka.

A close round but Cassit Heiluu will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Dakka lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Dakka bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

and Dakka counters with a good low kick that Heiluu was not able to check.

Nice sprawl there from Dakka as Heiluu shoots in.
Dakka uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Heiluu has time to react.
Heiluu takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Heiluu doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Dakka throws a half hearted mid kick.
No joy there for Heiluu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Heiluu dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Heiluu throws a hook but Dakka blocks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Heiluu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dakka paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Heiluu lands a nice hook to Dakka's body. Dakka takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Heiluu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dakka throws a sloppy head kick and Heiluu moves out of range easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dakka fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A combination from Heiluu does no damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Heiluu avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cassit Heiluu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Heiluu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dakka manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Heiluu lands a jab to Dakka's midsection.
Dakka tried to score with a low kick but Heiluu checks it.

Heiluu on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Dakka. Dakka obviously looking to wear him down.
Heiluu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dakka sprawls well. Dakka wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Heiluu gets slowly back to his feet.

Heiluu darts in and clinches Dakka up against the cage.

Heiluu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Heiluu has managed to clinch.
Dakka has Heiluu pressed against the cage, preventing Heiluu from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Heiluu has a couple of punches blocked by Dakka.
Heiluu tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dakka smiles and moves away.
Wazz Dakka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cassit Heiluu.
Dakka with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Heiluu to score with a decent uppercut.

Heiluu misses with a double jab.
Dakka catches Heiluu with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Dakka fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Heiluu has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Dakka is looking to slow Heiluu down with leg kicks.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Heiluu drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Heiluu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Cassit Heiluu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Heiluu has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
