Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Conlaoch Cuchulainn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Conlaoch Cuchulainn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mason Peters!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cuchulainn closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Peters did well to prevent Cuchulainn getting side control.
Cuchulainn is trying to control. Peters wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cuchulainn throwing shots but Peters is blocking nicely.
Well, if Cuchulainn is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Conlaoch Cuchulainn wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Peters connects with a jab.
Peters swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Cuchulainn fails with a takedown attempt.
Cuchulainn fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Peters avoids it really well and circles away.
Peters lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cuchulainn circles away quickly and effectively.
Peters throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Cuchulainn has closed the distance and engaged Peters in a clinch.
Peters tries to break free but Cuchulainn pushes him back against the cage.

Cuchulainn successfully pulls guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cuchulainn holds on and takes a little breather.
Cuchulainn tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Cuchulainn pushes Peters off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Cuchulainn takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Peters fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Peters swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Peters swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

so Cuchulainn counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cuchulainn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peters swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cuchulainn not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Conlaoch Cuchulainn.
Peters throws a right hand that Cuchulainn ducks under and follows up with a left that Cuchulainn also avoids with ease.

Cuchulainn shoots in for a takedown but Peters shows good takedown defense.

Peters is staying active underneath Cuchulainn, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Conlaoch Cuchulainn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Cuchulainn shoots in looking for a takedown but Peters manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cuchulainn's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cuchulainn is defended easily by Peters.
Cuchulainn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peters tries to avoid it but Cuchulainn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peters to the ground. Peters escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Peters throws a series of punches but Cuchulainn moves out of range.
Mason Peters is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cuchulainn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
