Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Markus Serdal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serdal throws a series of punches but Wilson avoids them all with ease.
Serdal defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wilson.
Serdal tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wilson swivels and escapes.
Serdal swings for the body but Wilson moves out of range.
Serdal avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wilson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Serdal throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wilson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Serdal.
Wilson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Serdal stuffs the takedown.

Wilson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Serdal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wilson somewhat.

and Serdal counters with a nice body shot.

and Serdal counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wilson won't be happy with that.
Wilson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wilson tries to get out of the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Serdal thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Serdal ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Wilson closes the distance and clinches up with Serdal, looking for a takedown. Wilson pushes Serdal against the cage but Serdal circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Serdal misses with a kick to the body.
Serdal shoots for a takedown but Wilson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Wilson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Serdal as he jumps to the side.

Wilson feints a jab promting Serdal to slip. Wilson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Serdal slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Serdal fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wilson manages to avoid it.
Wilson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Horrible takedown by Serdal or perhaps it was just good defense by Wilson which made him look bad.

Serdal uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wilson.
Serdal keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wilson shoots in looking for a takedown. Serdal tries to sprawl out of it but Wilson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Serdal manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's time! Wilson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Wilson takes a swing at Serdal's ribcage but misses.
Serdal fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wilson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Wilson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Serdal bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Serdal is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wilson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Serdal takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Serdal throws an elbow but Wilson slips to the side and avoids it well.
