Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Greg Page!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick James!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Page scores with a three punch combo!
James shoots in for a takedown but Page shows good takedown defense.
James shoots in but Page avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Page lands the left hand.
James tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Page was well out of range. Poor timing from James.
Greg Page seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Page gets caught flat footed, as James shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Page looking for a guillotine here but James defends easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Page is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
James must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Page is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of James's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take James's back!

James got a little sloppy there for a moment and Page has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, James has managed to get both his arms back between Page's legs - danger averted.
Page wants to hit a switch here but James passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Page there!

James has hold of Page's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Page manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

James thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

James postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Page is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of James, into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Nick James will probably get the nod.
That's time! Page's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


James fails with the takedown.
James tries to score a power double leg takedown but Page sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten James somewhat.

Page throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Page is on the wrong end of a nice combination from James.
Page lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as James backs up against the cage.
Page feints a jab promting James to slip. Page then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. James slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

James fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
James shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Page pinned against the cage. Page gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Greg Page has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick James.
James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Page.

Page stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Page wants it to stay on the feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Page wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
James takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

James drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and James jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
