The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Laitamo lands but James takes it in his stride.

It looks like Stafford James has been cut.
James takes a swing at Laitamo's ribcage but misses.
James throws a poor cross that misses

and Laitamo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
James is looking to break free of the clinch but Laitamo has double underhooks.
James's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Laitamo scores with an uppercut up the middle.
A frustrated look appears on James's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Laitamo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Laitamo slips under a jab.
James avoids the head kick by Laitamo.
Laitamo connects with a looping right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Laitamo! James is out on his feet! Laitamo rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - James is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! James is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
