Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Kronic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dom Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson fails with the takedown.
Kronic tries to sprawl but Thompson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kronic has one foot on Thompson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Thompson misses with a takedown attempt - Kronic sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Thompson fails with the takedown
and Kronic counters with an inside leg kick.
Paul Kronic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dom Thompson.
Thompson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Kronic closes the distance and lands a one-two.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Kronic - that will leave a mark!
Kronic misses with a wild combination.
Kronic gets caught flat footed, as Thompson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Thompson looks gassed!
Thompson postures up in Kronic's guard and throws a big left but Kronic blocks it.
Kronic pushes Thompson off and gets back to his feet.
Kronic looks to land a combination. Thompson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Thompson is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Thompson is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Kronic just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Thompson has gone limp and this one is over!
