PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Diesel Noi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and wesley snipes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noi scores with a spinning back kick!
Noi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says snipes as he avoids it easily.
Noi throws a hook but snipes avoids it easily.

Noi rushes snipes and presses him up against the cage.
Noi has snipes pushed against the cage.

snipes is trying to trip Noi. He has hold of a leg but Noi is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. snipes persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
snipes prevents Noi from getting back to his feet.
snipes tries to free his leg and advance position but Noi is retaining full guard.

snipes drops back, looking for a kneebar! Noi looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Noi looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Noi!

Noi has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Noi throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Noi swinging wilding here.
Noi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but snipes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Noi connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Noi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Noi is looking to clinch.

snipes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Noi sprawls well initially but snipes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
snipes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Noi keeps working.

Noi is defending against the submission attempts here by snipes.

Noi is looking for a sweep. snipes is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

snipes wants to work for an arm triangle but Noi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Noi tests snipes's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Noi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Noi throws a head kick that misses.
Noi misses with a hook.
Noi pulls out of a head kick attempt.

snipes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - snipes lands in his opponent's guard.

snipes thows a huge punch but Noi dodges it nicely.
snipes thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Noi's head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Noi gets to his feet. snipes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

snipes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Noi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now snipes has Noi in his guard.

wesley snipes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Noi gets caught flat footed, as snipes shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as snipes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
snipes postures up and lands a big shot to Noi's brow.
snipes is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

snipes is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Noi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Noi has escaped and now he's on top!
snipes wants to control but Noi passes easily into half guard.

snipes tries to roll over but Noi keeps him under control.
snipes takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Noi working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on snipes's thigh. snipes counters though and makes it back to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
snipes is trying to control the position from the bottom.

snipes looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Noi passes into side control.
snipes wants to control but Noi postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
snipes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Noi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Noi wants to stand but snipes is controlling his arm.
Noi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
snipes is not content to let Noi control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Noi thuds a left hand into snipes's body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Noi wants to clinch up but snipes keeps it at a distance.
Noi misses with a wild combination.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The is referee keeping an eye on Noi - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Noi drops to a knee looking for a takedown but snipes gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Diesel Noi.
I think Noi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
