Miller has chosen Nero Remix - Feel So Close as his entrance music. Vladimir Skostkov could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Melvin Miller's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Melvin Miller!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miller closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Skostkov is trying to control Miller's posture but Miller avoids it.

Miller looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Skostkov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Miller is trying to get an arm triangle but Skostkov is defending well.
Miller prevents Skostkov from escaping the position.
Skostkov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Miller tries to move into full mount but can't pass Skostkov's legs.
Miller looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Skostkov is avoiding damage well.

Skostkov is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Miller has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Skostkov is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Miller off and has taken his back!
Skostkov doesn't have the hooks in and Miller manages to turn into his guard.
Miller in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Skostkov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Skostkov is pulling down on Miller's head to control his posture.
Miller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Skostkov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Miller is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Skostkov gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Skostkov trying to keep a closed guard but Miller is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Skostkov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miller on the ground.

Skostkov wants to sweep here but Miller controlling him for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Miller tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Skostkov swivels and escapes.
Skostkov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Miller swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Skostkov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Miller moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Skostkov throws a sloppy head kick and Miller moves out of range easily.
Skostkov is breathing heavily.
Miller fails with a takedown attempt.
Miller avoids a kick to the body.

Miller misses with a wild combination.

Miller shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Skostkov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Miller thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Miller wants to control from the top but Skostkov keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Skostkov is trying to control the position but Miller postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Melvin Miller dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Miller manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Skostkov on his heels. He'll look to pass Skostkov's guard now, I'm sure.

Miller has gone for a leg lock! Skostkov slips out almost immediately though and dives into Miller's guard.
Miller wants to get back to his feet but Skostkov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Skostkov trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Miller has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Skostkov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Skostkov wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Skostkov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Skostkov scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Skostkov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Miller looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Miller looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Miller!

Miller tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Miller is working to tighten is grip on Skostkov's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Skostkov has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Miller is really squeezing tight and eventually Skostkov passes out! Miller breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Melvin Miller!
