And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dieter tries a low kick but Heaney avoids it.
Dieter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Heaney counters with a single leg into guard. Dieter didn't expect that.
Dieter keeping moving, preventing Heaney from controlling successfully.

Heaney working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Dieter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Heaney on the ground.
Dieter has his foot on Heaney's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Heaney works his way back into a safe position though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Heaney is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Heaney looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dieter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Heaney takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Heaney drops an elbow to the side of Dieter's head.

Heaney is trying to control the action in half guard but Dieter is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Heaney wants to pass the guard but Dieter is defending well.

Heaney drops an elbow to the side of Dieter's head.
Heaney throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Heaney lands strikes from half guard.
Dieter on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Heaney connects with a nice short shot to Dieter's temple.
Heaney lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dieter has hold of Heaney's hands but Heaney slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Heaney is nestled in close to Dieter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Heaney landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Heaney has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Heaney grinds an elbow into Dieter's temple.
Dieter is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Heaney lands a strong strike to the head of Dieter. That's dazed him! Heaney looking to finish here. Dieter is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Heaney lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Seamus Heaney!
