The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Rodriguez.
Rodriguez scores with a sloppy right hand. Ilyukha should have avoided that one.
Rodriguez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rodriguez tries to bum rush Ilyukha with a series of wild strikes but Ilyukha uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rodriguez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ilyukha circles away.
Ilyukha fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rodriguez avoids it really well and circles away.
Ilyukha fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ilyukha throws a jab when Rodriguez was well out of range.
Rodriguez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Ilyukha clinches with his opponent.

Ilyukha's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A telegraphed right hand from Ilyukha misses the target.
Ilyukha throws a front kick that sends Rodriguez stumbling back into the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A nice inside leg kick there by Ilyukha. That's going to slow Rodriguez down.
Rodriguez looks gassed!
Ilyukha shoots in looking for a takedown but Rodriguez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ilyukha's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ilya Ilyukha. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rodriguez misses with a few strikes there.
Ilyukha looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ilyukha shoots for a double leg takedown but Rodriguez sprawls well. He's pushed Ilyukha's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kevin Rodriguez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rodriguez throws a looping overhand right but Ilyukha ducks down to avoid it.

Ilyukha has closed the distance and engaged Rodriguez in a clinch.
Rodriguez is looking to take this one to the mat.
Ilyukha is pushing Rodriguez up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Ilyukha throws a punch but it's blocked by Rodriguez.

Ilyukha pulls guard effortlessly.
Rodriguez wants to control from the top but Ilyukha keeps moving.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rodriguez preventing the sweep.
Rodriguez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Ilyukha keeping moving, preventing Rodriguez from controlling successfully.
Ilyukha controls Rodriguez momentarily but Rodriguez frees himself.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ilyukha forces Rodriguez back against the cage and clinches.

Ilyukha gets control of Rodriguez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ilyukha will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodriguez throwing strikes from guard but Ilyukha blocks nicely.
Rodriguez engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Rodriguez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ilyukha's guard.

Ilyukha tries to roll over but Rodriguez keeps him under control.
Ilyukha has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rodriguez is working away from the top position though.
Rodriguez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ilyukha's head.

Rodriguez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Rodriguez is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rodriguez controlling the pace.
Rodriguez wants to take a breather but Ilyukha is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rodriguez seems to be working for a kimura but Ilyukha defends the submission attempt.
Ilyukha trying to control but Rodriguez postures up.
Ilyukha is trying to get back to full guard.
Rodriguez throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Ilyukha knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rodriguez on the ground.

Rodriguez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rodriguez is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Ilyukha is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
