Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silas Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Antonio Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Silas Storm!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Storm stuffs the takedown attempt from Rivera. Rivera gets slowly back to his feet.
Storm lands a jab to the head.
Storm tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Rivera attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Storm misses with a leg kick
and Rivera counters with a straight right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rivera tries for a takedown but Storm circles away easily
and Storm counters with a leg kick.
Storm connects with a leg kick. Rivera looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Storm misses with a two punch combination.
Storm tried to score with a low kick but Rivera checks it.
Storm misses with an uppercut.
Storm wants to slow Rivera down by chopping away at his legs.
Storm cracks Rivera with an open hand slap.
Storm motions for Rivera to come forward. Storm throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

and Rivera counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rivera dives in and grabs Storm's left leg, looking for a takedown. Storm pushes down on Rivera's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio Rivera. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Storm tried to score with a low kick but Rivera checks it.
Storm attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Storm lunges at Rivera with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rivera's hand.
Storm throws a solid leg kick but Rivera takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Storm.
Storm fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Rivera checks it well.
Storm rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Rivera counters with a shoot takedown. Storm fights it but they end up in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Storm keeping moving, preventing Rivera from controlling successfully.

Storm is controlling Rivera's posture.
Rivera trying to control the position from guard on top but Storm is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We're going to have a standup here because Antonio Rivera wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Storm throws out a powerful jab.
Storm misses with a leg kick.
Silas Storm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rivera drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rivera loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rivera accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Rivera has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Storm holds on and takes a little breather.
Rivera tries to free his leg and advance position but Storm is retaining full guard.
Rivera wants to stand and escape but instead Storm has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Storm pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rivera is keeping the position for now.

Rivera looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Storm has picked Rivera up and slammed him! Rivera can't keep hold of the triangle and Storm manages to pass to side control!
Rivera is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Storm wants to stand up but Rivera is controlling the position.

Storm tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Rivera tries to roll over but Storm keeps him under control.
Storm passes into side control, despite Rivera's attempt to control the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rivera tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silas Storm dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Storm throws a leg kick

and Rivera counters with a takedown into side control.

Rivera working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Rivera is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Storm knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Rivera wants to take a breather but Storm manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Rivera.
Storm is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Antonio Rivera overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Storm gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Rivera moves out of range of the leg kick from Storm.
Storm bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rivera's head backwards.


It looks like Antonio Rivera has been cut.
Silas Storm is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Storm throws a right hand that misses
and Rivera counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Storm is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Storm swings for the body but Rivera moves out of range.
Nice sprawl there from Storm as Rivera shoots in.
Storm throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Silas Storm seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Storm is looking to score with low kicks.
Storm throws a poor cross that misses

and Rivera counters with a shoot takedown. Storm fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Storm has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close second round but Silas Storm will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Storm rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rivera moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Storm tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Horrible takedown by Rivera or perhaps it was just good defense by Storm which made him look bad.

and Rivera counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Storm's guard now.
Rivera wants to control from the top but Storm keeps moving.

Rivera throws a strike but Storm rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Rivera controls Storm momentarily but Storm frees himself.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Storm wants to get up but he can't break Rivera's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Rivera looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Rivera has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Storm can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Storm looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Rivera wants to sweep but no luck.
Rivera is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Rivera looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Storm has picked Rivera up and slammed him! Rivera can't keep hold of the triangle and Storm manages to pass to side control!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rivera tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Storm wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Rivera is trying to control Storm's posture but Storm avoids it.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Silas Storm.
I've got Storm winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Silas Storm decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
