Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yurik Khripunov !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Matthew Mangan!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mangan shoots in but no luck this time.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Khripunov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mangan can do anything to dispel that myth.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Khripunov 's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mangan throws out a loose jab but Khripunov uses good head movement to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Yurik Khripunov will probably get the nod.
That's time! Khripunov 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Khripunov has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
