Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rolls Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Wu-Tang Clan - The Mystery Of Chessboxin. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in but no luck this time.
Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gracie's waist but Gracie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side.
Johnson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

and Gracie counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Rolls Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Johnson.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.

Johnson dives in and grabs Gracie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.

Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johnson is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gracie wants to free his trapped foot but Johnson is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Chris Johnson.
Johnson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Johnson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Gracie scores with a crisp jab that stopped Johnson in his tracks.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt - Gracie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Gracie throws out a leg kick but Johnson moves out of range and Gracie only half commits.
Johnson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Chris Johnson has been cut.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Johnson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Johnson.

Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gracie leaves Johnson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gracie cracks Johnson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

A punch combination from Gracie misses.
Gracie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Gracie closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Gracie defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Johnson.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gracie sprawls well. Gracie wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Johnson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rolls Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
