Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy McCranky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slow Mo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy McCranky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Slow Mo!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Mo closes the distance and clinches.

McCranky manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
McCranky looking to control.
Mo postures up in McCranky's guard and throws a big left but McCranky blocks it.
Mo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McCranky trying to keep a closed guard but Mo is proving a slippery customer.
Mo wants to control from the top but McCranky keeps moving.
Mo is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
McCranky manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mo manages to get himself to full guard.
Mo is trying to control the position from the bottom.

McCranky is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mo can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
McCranky postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
McCranky tries for a takedown but Mo circles away easily

and Mo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mo.

McCranky tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mo tries to free his leg and advance position but McCranky is retaining full guard.

Mo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

McCranky fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
McCranky looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
McCranky looks to clinch

and Mo counters with a nice double leg into side control. McCranky won't be happy with that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
What's McCranky going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCranky struggling a bit here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mo wants to lay and pray for a moment but McCranky keeps working.
McCranky gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Mo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McCranky is just riding it out for now. Mo eventually gives up the hold.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Mo blocks the strikes from McCranky.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Mo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mo lands in his opponent's guard.
Mo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Mo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
McCranky not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McCranky is looking to stand up but Mo isn't so interested in that idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Slow Mo dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


McCranky scores with a sloppy right hand. Mo should have avoided that one.

Mo rushes McCranky and presses him up against the cage.
McCranky tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mo smiles and moves away.

and Mo counters with a single leg into guard. McCranky didn't expect that.
Mo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McCranky is keeping the position for now.
McCranky will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McCranky controls Mo momentarily but Mo frees himself.

McCranky pulls Mo in close to his closed guard and prevents Mo from doing any damage or advancing position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McCranky keeping moving, preventing Mo from controlling successfully.
Mo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
McCranky tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Mo counters with a nice double leg into side control. McCranky won't be happy with that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy McCranky. That's going to take a lot out of him.

You can see the frustration on McCranky's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
McCranky is not content to let Mo control the position.
Mo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McCranky kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

McCranky can't do much from the bottom here.
McCranky manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
McCranky is pressing down on Mo's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
McCranky looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Mo wants to control from the top but McCranky keeps moving.
Mo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McCranky swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McCranky is pulling down on Mo's head to control his posture.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
McCranky lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
McCranky throws a head kick but Mo moves out of range.
McCranky fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Mo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Slow Mo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Mo gets the takedown into side control.
McCranky avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Mo.
McCranky controls the position for a moment.

Mo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Mo taking a break here but McCranky is having none of it and regains half guard.

Mo wants to work for an arm triangle but McCranky is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
McCranky is controlling Mo's trapped leg to prevent Mo from advancing to side control.
Mo trying to control the action but McCranky is working from the bottom.
McCranky wants to improve his position but Mo is controlling well.
McCranky is refusing to be controlled, as Mo sits in half guard.
Slow Mo has got the better of the ground game so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
No joy there for McCranky, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mo works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Mo is trying to control the action in half guard but McCranky is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Mo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Mo is working for a submission of some sort.
Mo with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
McCranky throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Mo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Mo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McCranky doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mo.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Mo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Mo content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Mo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Mo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Jimmy McCranky has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Mo stands and steps away. McCranky gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

And that's the end of the fight!
Slow Mo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Mo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
