Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Landon Kaplan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Polo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaplan's entrance music is Of Wolf And Man by Metallica. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Polo lands a jab to the head.

It looks like Landon Kaplan has been cut.

Polo gets caught flat footed, as Kaplan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kaplan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Polo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kaplan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Polo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kaplan has managed to get both his arms back between Polo's legs - danger averted.

Polo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kaplan's guard.
Polo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kaplan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Polo avoids it really well and circles away.
Kaplan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Polo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Kaplan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Polo did well to prevent Kaplan getting side control.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kaplan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Polo manages to get to full guard.

Marco Polo dominated that round.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Polo tries to bum rush Kaplan with a series of wild strikes but Kaplan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Polo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kaplan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Polo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kaplan pulls his leg out and moves away.

Kaplan connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Polo dives in and grabs Kaplan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kaplan pushes down on Polo's head and hops out.
Landon Kaplan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marco Polo.

Marco Polo seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kaplan throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kaplan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Polo gets tackled into the cage by Kaplan. Kaplan maintains the clinch.

Kaplan has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Polo clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Landon Kaplan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kaplan lands a good shot there. Polo covers up! Kaplan smells blood and goes for the finish - the referee warns Polo to improve his position but he's not intelligently defending himself and the referee has no choice but to step in and end the fight! Kaplan jumps to his feet and celebrates the important win with his cornermen!
