PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Genghis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grey Maynard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grey Maynard told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan looks to land a combination. Maynard sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Maynard keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Khan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Maynard at a distance.
Khan throws a right hand that Maynard ducks under and follows up with a left that Maynard also avoids with ease.
Maynard misses with a series of wild punches.

Khan gets caught flat footed, as Maynard shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Khan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maynard moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Khan feints a jab promting Maynard to slip. Khan then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Maynard slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Maynard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Maynard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Khan sprawls well. Khan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maynard gets slowly back to his feet.

Maynard is trying to drag Khan to the mat but Khan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
