Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Quinn!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quinn will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Johnson pushes Quinn away with a front kick.
Johnson misses with a head kick.
Johnson looks for the body kick but Quinn saw that one coming.
Johnson lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
A nice inside leg kick there by Johnson. That's going to slow Quinn down.
Quinn blocks a head kick by Johnson.
Johnson tries to score with a low kick but Quinn moves his leg out of the way.
Quinn moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off.
Johnson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Johnson misses with a series of wild punches.
Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and Quinn moves out of range easily.

Quinn darts in and clinches Johnson up against the cage.

Johnson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Quinn looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Quinn swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Quinn isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Johnson stacks Quinn on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Johnson!
Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Quinn keeps working.
Quinn wants to get back to his feet.

Johnson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Johnson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Quinn to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Quinn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Johnson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Quinn keeping full guard, as Johnson tries to pass.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Quinn is on top in guard.
Quinn showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Quinn looks gassed!
Quinn throwing strikes from guard but Johnson blocks nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Quinn passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Quinn tries to stand but Johnson controls the position and pulls Quinn into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Quinn on the ground.
Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Quinn wants to stand but Johnson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Johnson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Quinn tries to reverse the position but Johnson maintains control.
Johnson lands a big shot there that rocks Quinn but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Johnson dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Johnson drives through and clinches with Quinn against the cage.
Quinn tries to pull guard but Johnson won't allow it.
Johnson stalls.
Johnson lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Quinn tightens his grip and picks Johnson up, before dumping him to the ground. Johnson manages to land in guard.
Quinn tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.

Quinn stands and steps away. Johnson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Quinn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Johnson is looking to land body kicks.
Quinn is breathing heavily.
Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Quinn pushes him off.
Quinn tries to clinch up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Quinn is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Quinn shoots and misses

and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Quinn won't be happy with that.
Jason Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Quinn.
Johnson takes a little break here. Quinn wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Quinn wants to control but Johnson postures up.
Quinn is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Quinn trying to hold on to Johnson's head to control him but Johnson postures up.
Quinn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Quinn is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Johnson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Johnson's back!
Johnson staying busy and making it hard for Quinn to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Quinn is persistently looking for the submission but Johnson is defending it well.
Johnson is trying to get back to his feet but Quinn has full control of the position and if anything, Johnson has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Quinn wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.

Quinn is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Johnson has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Quinn has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Johnson taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Quinn doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dan Quinn!
