Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frank Knuckles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bricks Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Knuckles had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knuckles slips a straight right by Tyler.
Knuckles drops his hands momentarily and Tyler takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Tyler misses with a straight right.

Knuckles dives in and scores a takedown into Tyler's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Knuckles trying to control the position from guard on top but Tyler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tyler looking for a sweep. Not yet Tyler, not yet.

Tyler has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Knuckles can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Frank Knuckles has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Knuckles misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Tyler to counter with a crisp jab.
Knuckles will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tyler cracks Knuckles with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Knuckles has his takedown stuffed
and Tyler connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Knuckles. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Knuckles shoots in for a double leg but Tyler sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Knuckles gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Knuckles has his foot on Tyler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tyler works his way back into a safe position though.

Tyler looking to sit in guard and control but Knuckles gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Knuckles is fighting to break Tyler's control of his arms but Tyler is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bricks Tyler.

and Tyler counters by clinching up.

Tyler's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Knuckles fails with a takedown attempt.

Tyler shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Knuckles napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Tyler tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tyler has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Tyler throws a solid leg kick but Knuckles takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Tyler.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Knuckles is defended easily by Tyler.
Tyler is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Knuckles takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Tyler tries to score a power double leg takedown but Knuckles sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tyler somewhat.

Tyler shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Knuckles's guard.
Tyleris looking to pass into half guard but Knuckles pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Knuckles is in guard.

Knuckles avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Tyler is pulling down on Knuckles's head to control his posture.
Knuckles wants to control from the top but Tyler keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Tyler looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Bricks Tyler has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Knuckles shoots and misses
and Tyler counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Knuckles shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Knuckles showed some decent athleticism there.
Tyler is positioning himself well to prevent Knuckles advancing to mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bricks Tyler wasn't active enough on the ground.
Knuckles swats away the attempt to clinch by Tyler.

Tyler drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Tyler looking to improve position, pressing down on Knuckles's thigh with his hand. Knuckles seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Tyler paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Tyler's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Knuckles picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
