Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kimbo Assis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niko Steljic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Assis comes into the arena with Falling Slowly blaring out of the sound system. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Steljic.
Assis shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Steljic napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Assis is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Steljic is trying to escape and Assis transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Steljic is forced to tap! Nice work there by Assis! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kimbo Assis!
Kimbo Assis got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
