Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jay Bomb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bomb's entrance music is Motley Crue - Knock 'Em Dead, Kid. A fine choice. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Bomb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Patrick Jones!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bomb chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Bomb wants to control but Jones is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Jones is looking for a kimura here.
Bomb avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jones.
Bomb gets back to full guard.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Bomb gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Jones has Bomb pulled in close to control his posture.

Bomb postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jones might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bomb kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Bomb cracks Jones with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Jones wants to hold on but Bomb pushes him away.

Jones is squirming around, avoiding Bomb's attempts to control the action.
Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Bomb lands a big shot there that rocks Jones but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Jones holds on to Bomb as tight as he can, avoiding damage.
Jones tries to hold on but Bomb postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is wriggling around trying to escape.
Jones is in a horrible position here. Bomb smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Jones gets back to half guard.
Bomb wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it.
Jones is controlling Bomb's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bomb wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bomb working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bomb. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bomb is working away from the top position though.
Jones is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Bomb is staying active.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones has his hands clasped together around Bomb's back. He's all about the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bomb rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage.
Bomb tries a knee to the head but Jones blocks it.

Bomb trying to control the position but instead, Jones has worked for underhooks and has pushed Bomb into the cage.
Jones tries to break the clinch but Bomb is controlling the position.

Jones is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Jones changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bomb fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Jones tries to work over Bomb's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Jones goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Jones wants to take the fight to the mat but Bomb manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Jay Bomb has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Jones.

Jones gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Bomb regains guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones lands a couple of digs.
Jay Bomb overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jones postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bomb is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jones, into his guard.
Bomb wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Jones looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bomb has picked Jones up and slammed him! Jones can't keep hold of the triangle and Bomb manages to pass to side control!

Jones wants to improve his position but Bomb is controlling well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jones has hold of one of Bomb's legs. Bomb is fighting the takedown attempt but Jones gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bomb is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jones is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bomb, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
