The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels tries to score with a low kick but Grover moves his leg out of the way.
Michaels fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Grover on the side of the head.
Michaels fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Grover has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Grover shoots for a takedown but Michaels saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Michaels finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

and Michaels connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Grover feints and as Michaels raises his hands in defense, Grover changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Grover postures up in Michaels's guard and throws a big left but Michaels blocks it.
Michaels looking to hit a scissor sweep but Grover is one step ahead there.

Grover has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Michaels connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Grover is looking to score with low kicks.
Grover rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Michaels moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Michaels throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Michaels is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Grover's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Grover's back!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Grover is defended easily by Michaels.

Michaels fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Grover.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Michaels. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Michaels lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Grover drops his hands for a split second and Michaels immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Grover face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Michaels follows up with a right hand that knocks Grover into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
