Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikolai Kukuev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Emerson Montain!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Montain clinches up with Kukuev and pushes him back against the cage.
Kukuev is looking to take this one to the mat.
Montain gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kukuev.

Kukuev successfully pulls guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Montain tries to stand but Kukuev is controlling from the bottom.

Kukuev had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Montain defends it easily.
Kukuev is trying to control the position but Montain postures up.
Montain scoring with some ground and pound.

Kukuev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Montain doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Montain manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kukuev has his foot on Montain's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Montain works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Montain throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kukuev works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Montain drives through and clinches with Kukuev against the cage.
Kukuev has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Montain after a bit of a struggle.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Montain tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kukuev swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Nikolai Kukuev has been cut.
Kukuev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Montain pinned against the cage. Montain gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Montain tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kukuev manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kukuev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Montain swivels and escapes.

Montain shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Montain gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Oh Kukuev is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Montain lands a big elbow - Kukuev is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Montain!
