Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pavel Pinigin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jordan Fox!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pinigin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Pinigin is just content to waste time from the top position. Fox takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Pinigin tries to free his leg and advance position but Fox is retaining full guard.
Fox is trying to keep Pinigin in close.
Fox is adopting a defensive guard.
Fox keeping moving, preventing Pinigin from controlling successfully.
Fox working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pinigin.

Pinigin stands and steps away. Fox gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Fox feints and as Pinigin raises his hands in defense, Fox changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Pinigin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fox doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fox manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pinigin throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pinigin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Pinigin looking for a guillotine here but Fox defends easily.
Fox not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Pinigin is looking to stand up but Fox isn't so interested in that idea.

Pinigin is working an open guard so Fox takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Pinigin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fox.
Fox throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pinigin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Pinigin is breathing heavily.

Fox fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pinigin, pushing him back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Pavel Pinigin will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Sloppy strikes from Pinigin. Those never looked like landing.

Fox lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Pinigin backwards.

Pinigin drops down looking for an ankle pick but Fox pulls his leg out and moves away.

Pinigin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fox avoids it really well and circles away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fox is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pinigin takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jordan Fox will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Fox tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pinigin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

No luck with that takedown attempt from Fox.

Fox lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Fox seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pinigin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jordan Fox was stalling too much, according to the referee.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fox shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pinigin napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Jordan Fox comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fox has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
