Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Duckworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Saddi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saddi has chosen Duran Duran - The Wild Boys as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Duckworth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Saddi!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Saddi has closed the distance and engaged Duckworth in a clinch.
Saddi doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Duckworth wants to break the clinch but can't.
Duckworth goes for a takedown attempt but Saddi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Duckworth dodges the punch combination from Saddi.
Duckworth lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Duckworth thuds his shin into the meat of Saddi's side.

Duckworth drives through and clinches with Saddi against the cage.
Saddi putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Duckworth in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Duckworth avoiding damage as Saddi throws knees to the body.
Saddi is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Duckworth is defending well for now.
Saddi lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Saddi pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Saddi tries to land a knee to the head but Duckworth blocks with his arms.

Duckworth can't find room to land a body shot as Saddi controls the action.
Duckworth tries to pull guard but Saddi won't allow it.
Duckworth has Saddi pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Saddi manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Saddi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Duckworth fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Saddi avoids it really well and circles away.

Saddi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Saddi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Duckworth counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Duckworth.

Saddi misses with a wild combination.
Duckworth fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Saddi has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Duckworth shoots in and drives through. Saddi sprawls well.
Duckworth looks for a takedown but Saddi sprawls well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Duckworth is trying hard to land a takedown here. Saddi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Saddi gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Saddi pulls guard effortlessly.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Saddi is looking to stand up but Duckworth isn't so interested in that idea.

Saddi working for submissions but it's allowed Duckworth to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Saddi dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Saddi lands with an uppercut that bounces Duckworth off the cage and back into range.
Jack Duckworth is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Duckworth is looking to take a break and control but Saddi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Saddi is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Duckworth asserts his dominance and retains side control.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Saddi manages to work his way to half guard, despite Duckworth's best efforts.
Saddi is not content to let Duckworth control the position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Saddi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Duckworth swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Saddi slips a jab and a cross from Duckworth.

Bob Saddi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Duckworth tries to stand but Saddi is controlling from the bottom.

Saddi uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Duckworth shoots in looking for a takedown but Saddi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Duckworth's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Saddi leaves Duckworth with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Saddi shoots in for a double leg but Duckworth sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Duckworth gets control of Saddi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Duckworth will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Duckworth is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Saddi controlling from the top position.
Duckworth wants to get back to his feet but Saddi is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Saddi looking to sit in guard and control but Duckworth gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Saddi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Duckworth got a little sloppy there for a moment and Saddi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Duckworth has managed to get both his arms back between Saddi's legs - danger averted.
Duckworth has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Saddi is proving hard to escape from.

Bob Saddi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Saddi controls Duckworth momentarily but Duckworth frees himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Duckworth will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
