Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rostam Samani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bazyli Poniatowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poniatowski takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Samani drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Samani looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Samani throws a strike but Poniatowski rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Samani is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Poniatowski defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bazyli Poniatowski.
Poniatowski has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Samani.
Samani fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Poniatowski.
Samani avoids the head kick by Poniatowski.

and Samani counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Poniatowski!

Poniatowski is in a horrible position here. Samani smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Samani lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Poniatowski! Samani sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Poniatowski and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

Rostam Samani decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
