Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Julian Assange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Mason's choice of entrance music: Kavinsky - Nightcall. On his way into the cage it seems that Julian Assange has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Julian Assange seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Assange wants to take a breather but Mason is having none of it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Assange connects with a nice short shot to Mason's temple.
Assange seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Assange seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mason for as long as he can get away with.

Assange perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mason has a hand on Assange's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Assange takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Assange lands a big shot there that rocks Mason but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Mason tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Assange manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
