Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Bane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scrooge McDuck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bane comes to the cage accompanied by Ego Draconis. The crowd seem to be enjoying McDuck's choice of entrance music: Scrooge McDuck. This should be a great matchup!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scrooge McDuck!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Joseph Jones and John Kavanagh.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDuck fails with the takedown.
Bane sizes up McDuck with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
McDuck is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bane sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Bane scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Bane closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into McDuck's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

McDuck had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bane defends it easily.
Bane cracks McDuck with a solid left hand.
Bane keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McDuck's head.

McDuck has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bane can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee asks Bane politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bane prefers to stall for the moment though.

Bane wants to lay and pray for a moment but McDuck keeps working.
McDuck manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bane's best efforts.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McDuck wants to control but Bane is keeping busy.
Bane is taking a breather. McDuck says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Bane is keen to just control but McDuck is a slippery customer.

McDuck takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

McDuck tries to lock up and control but Bane gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The referee warns McDuck that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
McDuck really wants to buck Bane off and get back to his feet.
McDuck sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bane will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
McDuck has hold of Bane's hands but Bane slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Bane wants to pass to mount but McDuck is defending the position.
McDuck tries to get to full guard but Bane has control of the leg.

Bane working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
McDuck is trying to control but can't.
McDuck wants to get back to his feet.

Bane controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Bane is working McDuck over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Bane trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Bane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McDuck swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McDuck is looking for a triangle but Bane pushes his legs off easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

McDuck shoots in looking for a takedown but Bane manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McDuck's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Scrooge McDuck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McDuck moves out of range of the strikes.
Bane scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
McDuck goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Bane throws a jab but it's blocked by McDuck.
Bane throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Bane connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

McDuck takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bane. McDuck does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bane swings for the body but McDuck moves out of range.
McDuck closes the distance and clinches up with Bane, looking for a takedown. McDuck pushes Bane against the cage but Bane circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bane works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

McDuck shoots for a takedown but Bane saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Xavier Bane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scrooge McDuck.
Bane lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
McDuck takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bane lands a front kick.
Bane ducks under a wild hook from McDuck.
Bane displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McDuck.
McDuck fails with a takedown attempt.
Bane stuns McDuck with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Bane closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Bane seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McDuck for as long as he can get away with.
