Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Basher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Basher comes to the cage accompanied by Hunt You Down- Saliva. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Basher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Richard Meyer!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Basher.
Meyer tries to clinch but Basher is having none of it.
Basher plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Basher throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Basher misses with the combination.
Basher keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Good shot there by Basher.
Both fighters circling a little - Basher finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Meyer walks into a jab.
Basher lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Meyer at a distance.

Meyer shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Basher lands a jab to the nose.
Basher throws a head kick but Meyer moves out of range.
Meyer fails to land the takedown.
Basher throws a head kick that misses.
A head kick from Basher lands but Meyer takes it in his stride.
James Basher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Basher scores with a body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Meyer is defended easily by Basher.
James Basher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Meyer.

Basher throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Meyer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Meyer tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Basher counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Meyer avoids a punch combination nicely.
Basher stuffs the takedown attempt from Meyer. Meyer gets slowly back to his feet.
Basher jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Basher ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Meyer closes the distance and clinches up with Basher, looking for a takedown. Meyer pushes Basher against the cage but Basher circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
James Basher is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Basher lands with an overhand left.
Basher lands with a hook. Meyer tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Basher scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Basher throws a sloppy head kick and Meyer moves out of range easily.
Basher cracks Meyer with an open hand slap.
Basher lands with a nice body punch.
Meyer is trying desperately to land a takedown but Basher is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Meyer.

Basher lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Basher throws a head kick but Meyer moves out of range.
Meyer takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Basher is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Basher lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Basher works the jab nicely.
Meyer on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Basher throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Meyer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
An inside leg kick lands from Basher.
Basher keeps the fight on the outside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Basher dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Meyer is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Basher.
Basher stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Basher wants it to stay on the feet.
Basher plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
James Basher is winning the standup battle so far.
Basher misses with a head kick.
Basher is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Meyer can do to turn this around?

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Meyer might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Basher has got the better of the exchanges.

Basher looks to land a combination but Meyer avoids it well.

Basher lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Basher lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Meyer is trying hard to land a takedown here. Basher sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Meyer walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Basher scores with a jab to the body.

A thudding body kick lands there by Basher!
Meyer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Basher paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Basher lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Meyer circles away quickly and effectively.

Basher lands a really nice looking cross but Meyer seems unphased.
A combination from Basher does no damage.
Basher throws a shot to the body.
A cross from Basher lands.
Meyer takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Basher stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Basher moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Basher throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Meyer.
Basher connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Meyer's hands.

Basher scores with a one two! Meyer had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Basher feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Meyers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Basher scores with a jab. Meyer acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Basher lands a high kick!
Meyer gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Basher keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Basher lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Basher misses with a few strikes there.
Meyer on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Basher dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Basher connects with the punch.
Basher catches Meyer with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Meyer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Basher moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Meyer is still on wobbly legs! Can Basher finish him?
Meyer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Basher sprawls well. Basher wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Meyer gets slowly back to his feet.
Meyer seems to have recovered his senses.
A shot to the liver by Basher. Beautiful body shot.
Basher lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Meyer takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Basher stuns Meyer with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Meyer's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Basher connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Meyer scrambles back to his feet.
Basher goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Meyer fails in his attempt to clinch.
Basher scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Basher getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Basher stalks Meyer and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Meyer's face. Meyer staggers backwards, shaken.

Meyer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Basher dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A decent looking cross lands there for Basher.
Basher misses with a wild combination.
Basher's jab looks to have found its range, popping Meyer under the eye.
Meyer closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Basher lands a head shot.

Basher scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Meyer gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Basher.
Basher cracks Meyer with an open hand slap.
Meyer takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Basher throws a right hand that Meyer ducks under and follows up with a left that Meyer also avoids with ease.
Basher stuns Meyer with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Meyer takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Basher throws a right and a left that Meyer avoids nicely.

Meyer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Basher pinned against the cage. Basher gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
James Basher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Meyer.
Meyer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Basher but Basher pushes him off and we're back to square one.
James Basher is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Meyer closes the distance but Basher moves to the side
and Basher counters with a body kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Basher throws a head kick that Meyer semi-blocks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Basher has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
