Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thor Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Igo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sandstorm. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Igo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Silva sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Igo somewhat.
Igo tries to clinch but Silva is having none of it.
Silva cracks Igo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Silva lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Igo takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Igo might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Silva has got the better of the exchanges.

Igo drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Igo off! Igo jumps back into Silva's guard.
Igo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silva!
Igo is looking for a sweep.
Silva wants to stand but Igo has his arm trapped.
Igo is looking to regain half guard here but Silva keeps moving and retains side control.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Igo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A right-left combo lands from Silva.
Igo closes the distance but Silva moves to the side
and Silva cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice straight punches there by Silva. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Silva.
Silva dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Igo. That did some damage!
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Thor Silva.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Thor Silva decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
