The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentine tries to clinch but Waterholder moves away
and Waterholder counters with a straight right hand.
Waterholder circles away from the clinch attempt
and Waterholder counters with a nice uppercut.
Valentine closes the distance but Waterholder moves to the side

and Waterholder counters with a nice double leg into side control. Valentine won't be happy with that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Waterholder wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Valentine, who protects the arm well.
Valentine pushes Waterholder away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Waterholder gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Valentine tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Waterholder is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Valentine knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Waterholder tries for a kimura but Valentine is defending well.

Valentine bucks up and tries to throw Waterholder off but instead Waterholder has got his back!
Valentine tries to roll but Waterholder sticks to his back.

Waterholder is cranking Valentine's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Valentine! He's tightened the choke and Valentine is tapping out!
