Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam Boone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Lin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Boone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Lin!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Boone manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lin looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Boone moves out of range of the body kick from Lin.
Lin avoids the head kick by Boone.
Lin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Boone shoots in for a takedown but Lin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lin wants to land a leg kick but Boone is out of range.
Some bone on bone action there as Lin checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Boone throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lin leaves Boone with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

so Boone counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Lin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Boone is trying to maintain the position but Lin is very close to passing his half guard.

Lin gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Boone lands with an overhand left.

Lin takes the fight into the clinch.

Lin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Boone throws a low kick but Lin avoids it.

Boone throws the kick towards the body but Lin avoids it.
Boone misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Boone. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boone tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Boone blocks a leg kick.
Lin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Boone defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lin.
Boone avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Lin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Boone sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lin somewhat.

Lin is not content to let Boone control the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Sam Boone will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Boone takes the fight into the clinch.
Lin is pressed up against the cage. Boone has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lin down to the mat. Lin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Lin takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Boone tries to bum rush Lin with a series of wild strikes but Lin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Lin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Boone sprawls well. Boone wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lin gets slowly back to his feet.

Lin drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Boone gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lin takes a swing at Boone's ribcage but misses.
Boone closes the distance and clinches up with Lin, looking for a takedown. Boone pushes Lin against the cage but Lin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lin has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Boone uses from the top position.

Lin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lin wants it to stay on the feet.

Boone changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Boone is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Lin gets his way!

Lin is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Boone defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Boone grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lin is riding his opponent, not letting Boone buck him off.

Lin is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Boone has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Lin lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Lin.
