Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ronald Roughcut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown throws a right and a left that both miss.
Roughcut avoids the head kick by Brown.
Some wild striking there from Brown.
Brown throws a head kick but Roughcut moves out of range.

Brown tries to bum rush Roughcut with a series of wild strikes but Roughcut uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Brown stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Brown wants it to stay on the feet.

Roughcut shoots in looking for a takedown. Brown tries to sprawl out of it but Roughcut keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brown manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Brown has closed the distance and engaged Roughcut in a clinch.
Roughcut tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Roughcut jumps guard but Brown stands there with Roughcut around his waist. Roughcut gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Roughcut. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Roughcut swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Roughcut counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Roughcut looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Brown really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Roughcut. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Roughcut got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roughcut has managed to get both his arms back between Brown's legs - danger averted.

Brown clobbers Roughcut with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
